11 Tips to Stop the Excessive Sweating for Good

Imagine being embarrassed to hold a new love’s hand. Imagine your pulse racing when meeting someone and they offer you their hand to shake. Imagine having so much anxiety over anyone touching your hands or feet, that you never visit a salon for a manicure or pedicure to relax after a hard week of work.

We sweat to regulate our body temperature. Sometimes life changes such as pregnancy or menopause can create excessive sweating. Anxiety or nervousness can cause it (anyone who has stood up in front of a group of people to give a presentation, or anyone who has ever gone on a first date, knows how the sweat can get going once the nerves are!) However, this is not always the case of excessive sweating either, and other times, people experience excessive sweating without life changes or anxiety-causing situations, which is known as hyperhidrosis.

For those suffering from Hyperhidrosis, you don’t have to imagine too hard. It’s a sad reality and one that plagues the daily activities and occurrences of coming into contact with others, that most of us don’t think twice about. Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes men and women of any age to suffer from excessive sweating of the hands and feet. While the condition is rarely talked about, and most of us may not even know it exists, it does affect 3 percent of the population. For that three percent, interacting with others or enjoying touch with a loved can be a serious cause for stress.

Not sure if you suffer from Hyperhidrosis? Seeing your doctor can help you rule out this condition.

Read on for some tips to stop the sweating for good, whether you suffer from Hyperhidrosis or not.

11 Tips for Stopping the Excessive Sweating for Good

  1. Get a really good deodorant. When I shop the grocery store for a new antiperspirant, I look for anything labeled clinical. I’ve found these antiperspirants are by far the strongest and keep my dry all day long, even in anxiety-provoking situations! Tip: Apply your stop sweating spray at night. Deodorants work best when they’ve had some time to sit on your skin. Don’t be afraid to use it in other places of the body where you excessively sweat.
  2. Put the Spicy food down. We all know how a spicy Mexican or Indian dish can really get us sweating. Limit the amount of spicy foods you’re eating, and when cooking at home, experiment with other spices until you find something you love that replaces that cayenne pepper!
  3. Avoid Caffeine. Caffeine gives you a nice start in the morning when you’re feeling sluggish, but if you’ve built up quite the caffeine habit, you may find yourself more vulnerable to excessive sweating throughout the day, thanks to the heart pumping results of drinking caffeine on the regular.
  4. Exercise. This may seem contradictory since exercise gets most of us sweating, but exercise can actually be good for helping the body limit and reduce sweat in normal, everyday situations. Losing excess weight can help your body stay cooler, and by exercising regularly, you will be helping your body get into shape, which will keep you from sweating when walking up a flight of stairs!
  5. Wear light, breathable fabrics that will help keep sweating to a minimum. Live in a hot climate? Carry a portable fan or water bottle around with you, and suck on peppermints which can also help give the body a cooling sensation.
  6. Stop smoking and keep drinking to a minimum. Your vices can be responsible for increasing your sweating, according to mayoclinic.com
  7. Botox! Yep, This beauty injection works great for stopping the excess sweat too! The doctor can apply directly to the areas you sweat the most to stop excessive sweating.
  8. Meditation. Sometimes just finding a few minutes a day to just relax and just be, can help you calm your body and reduce excessive sweating. This is a great activity for those who regularly suffer from anxiety.
  9. See your doctor for a prescription. Sometimes those who experience chronic anxiety, my be experiencing excessive sweating as a symptom. Also, seeing your doctor can help rule out Hyperhidrosis or get you diagnosed. You can also get prescribed medication to help with excessive sweating as well.
  10. Surgery. If these other options aren’t working, you may want to consider having the miraDry Procedure done, which eliminates sweat glands in the underarm safely and non-invasively, which provides lasting results and stops excessive underarm sweat for good.
  11. Get yourself an Iontophoresis. Iontophoresis machines, such as Iontoderma were created to put an end to the excessive sweating of hands and feet, and is proving to do just that! The Iontoderma is a device designed to stop the sweating by treating the hands and feet with an electrical (nonpainful) charge, to decrease the sweat glands from releasing sweat. The machine only needs to be used for 20 minutes daily, for about 7 days before most users will see some incredible results. Most notice a significant difference after just one or two uses. The awesome thing about Iontoderma is that it is not just for temporary relief. Using it will actually stop the excessive sweating of hands and feet permanently! ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP Machine Preview

Please Note – The ResMed AirMini machine has since been released with some reviews already. Click here to view them. ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP Machine Preview ResMed; arguably the market leader in CPAP machines, has announced their entry into the travel CPAP machine market with the AirMINI. There are a number of rumours circulating about the design of the machine. Now, it must be said that I cannot speak to the authenticity of the picture shown. But it looks strikingly similar to the descriptions of the machine from those who attended the launch. A few CPAP suppliers from the Sydney area were present, and some leaks (not mask leaks, excuse the pun) about the size, shape and features of the machine have slipped out of some not-so-tightly sealed lips. It is a little secret that ResMed have been looking at entering into the lucrative travel-CPAP market for some time. The British beauty blogger, who started her own YouTube channel in 2009 and now reportedly makes $100,000 pe...
